Romance? Not with the Forbidden Duke!
Dear readers,
If you’re anything like me, you get pleasure from doing something forbidden every now and then.
Today you can follow this impulse without any regrets, even if not in the way you’re probably thinking. Today I bring you the cover of The Forbidden Duke, a collaboration with my author friend Emmi West.
What is the book about?
Miss Emma Nightingale is a wallflower of her own free will. She made a mess of her debut and is fed up with gentlemen who only want her fortune. With her fiery red hair, her temperament, and as a passionate (and not at all tame and ladylike) horsewoman, she’ll never find a man who loves her as she is.
Ah, sorry, dear readers, as I write these words, a ghostly echo wafts in from my past *giggles.* That’s exactly what I often heard my grandmother say. Well, Grandma? What do you think of my 25 years of marriage?
Where was I? Ah yes, Emma. Miss Emma Nightingale.
After this rather exhausting season, Emma would give anything to be herself for one night – unpretentious, honest, and forthright.
Her wish is granted.
She spends an enchanting night in the legendary Jewelled Rooms engaging in harmless pleasures such as dancing, talking, and playing cards.
But then he shows up.
In the blink of an eye, her heart is thumping wildly.
Emma doesn’t stand a chance against a man like him. One kiss under the stars, and she’s gone.
But even the most beautiful night must come to an end, and when Emma goes home, she knows: she must never see this man again.
Weeks later, when she has successfully convinced herself she has forgotten him, he confronts her. The mysterious stranger who gave her that one unforgettable kiss is none other than the Forbidden Duke. His past is darker than dark, his transgressions unforgivable. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, he is her beloved grandmother’s nemesis, and he’s the man who will rob her and her grandmother of their home, fortune, and future.
Can you believe that I haven’t even touched on the first quarter of the romance novel yet? It’s going to be much more dramatic, and much, much more romantic!
The book will go live in early November.
See you soon and all the best,
Audrey Ashwood and Emmi West
